Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is vastly approaching, and different people have different ideas on what Valentine’s day should be. Some people take valentines day as the day to make everyone else jealous like “Oh, look what I got!”, and some people take Valentine’s day as God’s judgment on their lives. When in reality, it’s just another day of the year. Nothing special. I mean yes I am single, but that isn’t why I don’t really care about Valentine’s Day. Would I like to have a special someone this valentines day? Maybe depends on who it is. But is that going to ruin the rest of 2014 if I don’t have a Valentine? NO. its just another day that people have felt the need to put emphasis on for some strange reason. Also, I feel that if you love someone as much as you say you do, you shouldn’t have to wait for a certain to prove it to them. Why do you have to wait for February 14th? Buy them all of these mushy-gushy stuff on May 23rd. It doesn’t matter. Even if I did have someone that I would be spending Valentines day with, I could never be one of those girls that demand certain things. Like even if its just a card, the fact that you care enough to even buy one for me is enough. It’s not that serious.
I think that it’s important for girls to remember that even if you don’t have a Valentine this year, or next year, or for the next three years, your someone is coming. The person that you are supposed to be with will come at the exact moment that they are supposed to. Everything has a time, and I believe that if things happen before they are supposed to then we aren’t mentally or emotionally prepared for them. So enjoy being single on valentines day. Turn it into GALentine’s Day. Go out to dinner. Watch a new movie. Watch chick-flicks, but don’t sit there in your room eating a pint of Ben and Jerry’s crying because you think that no one loves you and no one will ever love you because we both know that’s a LIE!
Take it as a learning experience. Learn what you want in a future Valentine, and become prepared so that when the right guy or girl comes you know exactly what you want and need.
Dare to be different. Get all of your single friends and make this Valentine’s Day one to remember. As for me? I’m going out with one of my great friends, and we’re going to dinner and a movie!
